What is a caffeine pouch?
A caffeine pouch is a small, nicotine-free pouch placed under the lip to deliver a quick energy boost. Each pouch typically contains 75-150mg of caffeine, about the same as 1-2 cups of coffee, and lasts for 30-45 minutes. Unlike energy drinks, caffeine pouches are sugar-free, discreet, and cost-effective.

Iceberg Energy pouches provide a boost of energy and focus when you need it most. These flavoured caffeine pouches are available in 75mg and 150mg strengths.
Caffeine pouches vs coffee & energy drinks
What flavours are on offer?
How long does a caffeine pouch last?
Iceberg Energy Pouches last for about 45 minutes in flavour and caffeine intensity. This was how long the caffeine seemed to last after using these for a week prior to reviewing them. On a lot of these energy pouches, the flavour is still noticeable for up to an hour or more, and you can leave them in if you want, there’s just no caffeine hit anymore.
Flavour Profile: Arasaka (Peach)
First impressions
The name offers no clue as to the flavour. Arasaka is the name of a ruthless fictional Japanese corporation in the video game Cyber Punk 2077. Not sure why they’ve done this - someone must be a fan - it’s kind of like naming a strawberry flavour ‘Skynet’.
The flavour itself is quite muted - it sort of lingers in the background for quite a while. The peach is floral with a soft sweetness that was more peach iced tea than actual fruit - although there’s no ice here.
How long does the flavour take to develop?
It takes a good 15 minutes for the Arasaka flavour to build to the point where you can actually taste it. I had to move the pouch from one side of my mouth to the other to get any of the flavour out.
How long does it last for?
I spent most of the time waiting for the flavour to develop and then it seemed to fade quite quickly.
Is the flavour accurate?
It’s tasted like a very bland iced tea - minus the ice
Who would like this?
Looking for a fruit flavour that doesn't overwhelm with sweetness? Then grab a tin of Arasaka - you won’t be disappointed.

Flavour Profile: Black (Bubblegum)
First impressions
I thought Iceberg Black would be some type of icy mint, but it’s bubblegum - and it’s good. You notice a fruity bubblegum aroma when you open the tin and the candy note takes hold first. It’s a classic bubblegum flavour with a fruity medley developing later on.
How long does the flavour take to develop?
After about 10 minutes you get this really moreish bubblegum with waves of fruit candy undertones that build up quite nicely to deliver a really fruit bubblegum flavour.
How long does it last for?
Mine still had flavour right up to the end, even when I was pretty sure that I had used up all the caffeine.
Is the flavour accurate?
Absolutely, the bubblegum is true to form and tastes like a childhood memory. The fruit adds a juicy note of complexity.
Who would like this?
This isn’t overly sweet, but it's very flavourful and is a good place to start if you want something that's got a bit more edge than a fruit or a mint.

Flavour Profile: Emerald (Apple)
First impressions
Apple’s a tough one to get right, if it's done well it can be juice and sweet or crisp and tangy. Icebergs rendition opens with a green candy apple aroma, leaning into sour apple sweet territory. The apple flavour is very synthetic and reminiscent of green apple candy. It's an ok flavour just not one I think I could use all day.
How long does the flavour take to develop?
The flavour is noticeable at about the 10 minute mark and peaks after 20 minutes with sweet shop candy apple flavour.
How long does it last for?
At about 35-40 minutes it starts to dissipate, leaving a vague sweetness that is not unpleasant.
Is the flavour accurate?
I don’t know what they’re going for here. If it’s authentic Granny Smith apple flavour then they’re way off. This is an okay candy apple flavour with a mild sour note.
Who would like this?
If you want something sweet and you like the taste of apple sweets, then this is the flavour for you.

Flavour Profile: Energy Mango
First impressions
Caffeine pouches are designed to be used as a cleaner, cheaper, and zero calorie alternative to high sugar energy drinks and this flavour smells and tastes like the world's most recognisable one, blended with an exotic twist. If you like that familiar sweet/tart, citrusy, slightly metallic hit, you’ll feel right at home, minus the diabetes risk.
How long does the flavour take to develop?
It takes up to 10 minutes for the flavour to fully develop.
How long does it last for?
The punchy top note mellows after 20 minutes but remains recognisable right through the 45-minute mark.
Is the flavour accurate?
Definitely albeit with a smooth tropical mango note. If you’ve ever cracked a can of Red Bull or Monster, you’ll know this taste.
Who would like this?
Energy drink fans and those looking for a lip smacking fruit flavour that matches the caffeine vibe it delivers.

Flavour Profile: Menthol
First impressions
When you’re starting out with caffeine pouches, you may want to start in familiar territory and I think this menthol flavour is a good option. It’s minty, but not overly icy, providing a clean and crisp flavour with a herbal, slightly medicinal undertone that’s common with many menthol flavours.
How long does the flavour take to develop?
Mints seem to work faster and this one comes alive after about 5 minutes.
How long does it last for?
There is a solid 45 minutes of cool freshness that stays steady throughout.
Is the flavour accurate?
Yes, it nails that classic menthol flavour without being overly complex or extremely icy.
Who would like this?
Anyone who prefers a traditional, refreshing lift without any fruit or candy notes.

Flavour Profile: Sour Berries
First impressions
They should rename this Cherry, because that’s what it is. There is no sourness in this at all and the berry flavour is a single cherry note and nothing else. Saying that, it's a good flavour that tasted just like candied cherries, providing a mouthful of sweet, full bodied richness with a moreish sugary edge. A sour note would’ve been nice though.
How long does the flavour take to develop?
You can smell the cherry when you open the tin and the flavour takes about 10 minutes once placed in your mouth.
How long does it last for?
You get around 40 minutes of flavour, with the cherry note finally mellowing into a sweet sugary flavour towards the end.
Is the flavour accurate?
Well, no - that’s not to say it's not a good flavour - but they really do need to rename this or fix the flavour. If you were expecting sourness or some kind of mixed forest berries flavour, you will be thoroughly disappointed, and a delicious cherry note may not be enough to make up for it.
Who would like this?
People who like a bold and vibrant berry flavour and aren’t too fussed about which berry it is or the missing sour hit.

Flavour Profile: Strawberry Mango
First impressions
This is a juicy and tropical flavour that hits you with a smooth mango flavour followed by a subtle note of strawberry that finished on a creamy note. These two flavours compliment each other really well, as they’re both prominent - if a little artificial.
How long does the flavour take to develop?
The mango comes through after 5 minutes with the strawberry building up slowly and the whole thing peaking around the 15 minute mark.
How long does it last for?
The flavour stays strong for about 35-40 minutes before the strawberry starts to fade.
Is the flavour accurate?
Iceberg Strawberry Mango is reminiscent of a rich fruit smoothy.
Who would like this?
Anyone after a flavour-packed fruit flavour will enjoy this one.

Flavour Profile: Sweet Mint (Spearmint)
First impressions
This is my go-to all-day caffeine pouch. The mint is fresh, sweet and soft enough that it’s not overpowering, plus there is zero ice which makes this an easy flavour to start with and a good one if you want a good tasting option that doesn’t overwhelm.
How long does the flavour take to develop?
After 5-10 minutes you’re enjoying a sweet note of fresh mint.
How long does it last for?
The flavour begins to fade after about the 35 minutes, where it still remains sweet but loses its herbal minty note.
Is the flavour accurate?
Absolutely. This is a very good spearmint flavour. Sweet, fresh and accurate. It does what it says without clearing out your sinuses.
Who would like this?
A good option for beginners and anyone who wants something pleasant that will sit nicely in the background.

Flavour Profile: Watermelon Mint
First impressions
This is a bright and juicy flavour that delivers an intense hit of sweet watermelon laced with mint. I found the flavour a bit too much if I’m being honest. I think you really need to like your watermelon and the mint doesn't do anything to cut through the sweetness, which is candied watermelon and not the actual fruit.
How long does the flavour take to develop?
This one hits pretty fast, it’s very sweet and that's what you get first. The watermelon builds into a saccharine crescendo and stays consistent with a peppery mint lingering in the background.
How long does it last for?
A solid 45 minutes of candy watermelon. Doesn’t lose its zing.
Is the flavour accurate?
Yes, but in a watermelon candy kind of way. It's heady, almost perfume-like in its intensity and quite aggressive in its sweetness.
Who would like this?
If you’re a fan of watermelon and very sweet fruit flavours then this is definitely one to consider.

Caffeine Strength & Cost Comparison
Iceberg Energy pouches can pack a punch. With 150mg caffeine per pouch, they deliver a stronger hit than a cup of brewed coffee. There’s also a 75mg version for those who want a gentler hit. To put that into context:
Product | Caffeine Content | Average Cost |
Energy Drink (single serving) | 80mg | £1.85 |
Flat White Coffee (single serving) | 120mg | £2.50 |
Iceberg Energy Pouch (20 servings) | 75-150mg | £3.00 |
As you can see, these caffeine pouches by Iceberg are highly cost effective and provide you with a sugar free boost that’s discreet enough to be used anywhere.
Health and Safety: What You Need to Know
While these pouches are a handy caffeine fix, they're strong. If you're sensitive to caffeine, stick to the 75mg option. NHS guidance suggests no more than 400mg caffeine per day for healthy adults.(1) That’s about two of the 150mg pouches - or four of the 75mg.
Avoid taking them too late in the day, or you might find yourself wide awake at 2am with a clean kitchen.
Final Verdict: Should You Try Iceberg Energy Pouches?
